History of Metro
The Metro Show was born in 2012 out of a single, unique idea: Create Vancouver’s largest apparel tradeshow, which would serve retailers and agents across western Canada.
To that end, the womenswear and menswear associations (WAM and JSIX) amalgamated first under the BC Men’s Apparel Club name and subsequently rebranded as the Metro Association.
This association now links agents and businesses representing all segments of the fashion apparel, footwear, giftware and sporting goods industries. While the Metro Show continues to thrive—for the mutual benefit of both the exhibitors and western Canada’s clothing retailers.
Metro Association membership is very inclusive. It’s open to agents and sales representatives of the following industries:
- Fashion apparel, footwear, accessories, giftware and sporting goods
- Related businesses, especially retail solutions such as retail software, retail business management companies, display and merchandising products and loss prevention.
If you’d like to join, we’d love to hear from you.
